Spider Man Homecoming: Whoaa !
Our friendly
neighborhood Spider Man has made his return on big screen, and he is more
charming than ever.
Film making rights now handled to Marvel Studios from Columbia Pictures. And this makes a lot of difference. A new franchise is here with fresh look, unique approach and storytelling which resembles with comic.
Film has lot of plus
than minus. Homecoming has won half battle with casting of Tom Holland as
Spidy. What was missing in Garfield (Shyness of Peter) and Tobey (Charm of
Spidy) is perfectly summed up here. Tom has balanced both personalities very
well. And he makes the character genuinely lovable. As always Robert Downey has
his own Charisma as Iron man/TS.
Casting of Micheal Keaton as Vulture was
really surprising. But His performance and non-routine character write up makes
it the most Horrific Baddy of Marvel Movies. His deep eyes are really Threatening.
Other casting of Mitchell (Zendaya), Liz(Laura Harrier) and Aunt May (Marisa
Tomey) is also good.
As I said, storytelling
is different and comes more close to comics. It walks along Peter’s surroundings,
his friends, crush and High school environment. Every audience can feel or
understand the difference between first 5 installments and this. It catches
attention of audience at very first note with its Quirky dialogues and realistic
directional approach. And hence it turns into character driven coming age
comedy.
Why do we feel Spidy
is our Hero? I had this question in mind. And I always found the answer that
these (all 5 installments) films have its heart which directly connects with
audience. And director, Jon Watts hasn't failed in maintaining that emotional
touch. He mostly focuses on polished Story rather than rehearsing familiar
elements in past. And that's biggy !
Film's Background
Score is so apt.
After the big reveal
in film, the silence maintained is really Haunting. It adds depth in subject
and surely the most effective patch of film. It has major contribution of Tom
and Keaton's Performance though.
The con, I personally
felt is Camera work in few scenes. It has one scene in which Spidy bounces back
with all confidence. This scenes had lot of potential, somehow I couldn't feel
that pressure and spirit.
An eye candy action
sequences are also missing a bit if we compare it with others. The baddies
surrounding Vulture are also under developed. But these don't make a big
difference.
For final verdict...
Spider Man Homecoming
has its heart at right place. It can easily please MCU fans and Comic lovers.
It has Fun, Joy, Heroism... All on right places. And the best Spidy movie ever
with full of Whoaa moments. So don't miss.
That's all ? No. I
have to say something.
I'm in love with Nerdy
Ned (Jacob Batalon) !
Yeah True..!
