Rustom
Neeraj pandey presents (sadly not directed) this new movie which is based on K.M. Nanavati Murder case.
A naval officer, Rustom (Akshay Kumar) goes on trial for the murder of his wife's lover is the basic plot.
This one revolves around all things in detailed manner about Murder, situations inside and outside court like media, approach of public, Crime Investigation, Indian Navy, Jury System and Rustom’s own character with some Religious touch.
Tinu Suresh Desai handles the story which goes in Past-Present manner with some Bright and Sharp Moments but some sloppy too.
In this, Court room scenes are really Entertaining and pulls off some fun moments. Itself court is character in the movie.
Performances are the heart of the movie. Anand Desai, Sachin Khedekar, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra and Usha Nadkarni did their roles brilliantly.
Akshay Kumar is really terrific. His Uniform, Attitude, Body Language, Dialogue Delivery are just beyond Perfect.
Art Direction and Cinematography is also good. Appearance of Mumbai, Navy Offices and Costumes in 50’s are also fine. Background score and Cracking Dialogues are also helping to add Patriotic flavor.
I’m sure that this Murder mystery will hook you to the seats till end. Truth also reveals sharply and impressively.
But it has some cons though. Somewhere it lost its pace. Esha Gupta... Wow!!! What a bad actress :(
Unfortunately it has not a single thrilling or nail biting moment which we expect from such movie. Irrelevant Songs also spoil the mood.
But you feel good after watching movie.
This will be perfect to celebrate Independence Day with Rustom and Waving Tricolor.
-Ashutosh :)
